My Convictions

I believe in God. I believe that there is a God who is knows all, can do all, and is all. I believe in a God Who created the universe, the world, everything in the world, and me. He created it all in six days, with one day to rest. He made the man, then the woman, perfectly fit for each other, and all the other beauty in the world. Look outside; look around – I believe that’s all His, the earth that He spoke into being long ago and still exists today. This God keeps His promises. I believe that He is the only God, leaving nothing else and no one else above Him. This God is patient, gracious, faithful, compassionate, loving, but He is also just, and He wants to be with His children.

I believe in absolute truth. I believe that there isn’t a “your truth, my truth” situation. There is one truth, and that truth comes only from God, and that Jesus Christ is that Truth. God provides everything we need to know about truth in His word.

I believe that the Bible is His inspired Word. I believe that the Bible isn’t just a book. It’s from God – a book of truth, a book of the one truth. I believe that all of the words in the Bible were written down by men but inspired and spoken by God. In it, I can find the right answers to every question and the wisdom to get through any situation. I believe that the Bible is the standard and the guidebook for life. The way to God, the way to Christ, the way to salvation. Because of this I believe that I need to follow it for guidance, not the world and not man’s opinions. And because of this I believe it deserves respect and honor just as our God does.

I believe that Jesus Christ is God’s Son. I believe that Jesus was sent to this earth by God for a purpose. He came willingly for His Father’s and for our benefit, went through trials, temptations, and physical & mental anguish so that we could be saved. I believe He was sent to be sacrificed for all of our sins, every person on earth, past, present, and future, so that we have the hope of being with Him in heaven in the end. Not only did he die, he also rose from the dead on the third day after death, completing the process. I believe that only through Christ can we gain salvation, and that any other way is vain.

I believe that salvation requires baptism. I believe in baptism. I believe that baptism is our acceptance of salvation and clothing of Christ, therefore it is necessary in receiving salvation, not simply confession & belief – this is found multiple times in the Bible (I’d love for you to ask me about it!). Baptism is a full coverage of water, not a sprinkling. I believe that before baptism it’s necessary believe, to repent, and to confess that Jesus is the Son of God, that He was crucified for our sins and raised from the dead. I also believe that it doesn’t stop at baptism. The saved can be lost again because of their own actions, and only after true repentance can they be renewed.

I believe that salvation is open to everyone. I believe that God doesn’t exclude. He doesn’t make exceptions for salvation based on status in the world and he hasn’t predetermined who will be saved. He shows no partiality. I believe salvation is offered to every person, and that God wants every person to accept it, but He gives them a choice to make the decision of whether they will accept His offer and follow Christ. It doesn’t matter how bad your choices have been in the past, God will accept you if you decide to follow Him His way. I believe this is where baptism is essential – to wipe away past sins and start brand new, publicly determining to follow the Bible pattern.

I believe that there should be one church. There should be one universal church, one body, unified as the body of Christ. Christ is the head of the church and the head of all men and women. I believe that Christ has the ultimate authority in the church in regard to worship, structure, traditions, and personal lifestyle. I believe that the church is not the building; it’s the unified body of Christians following the pattern. Each individual person in the church is to care for each other as Christ would, and walk in harmony and peace with each other. We are to show Christ-like love to all humanity through benevolence and teaching. I believe that this church is not just local churches, but it consists of unified disciples throughout the world.

I believe that heaven is the reward for His people. I believe that if Christians persevere and fight against sin in this world, then they will receive the inheritance in heaven. We will finally see God and His Son, praising Them for the rest of eternity. I believe that this will be a heavenly kingdom, not an earthly one – one in which we leave all other things and people behind and join God for something unrecognizable from this earth after its destruction. Something with more majesty and joy, never any tears or worry, and a place in God’s home. I believe this is being prepared for those who diligently seek and follow Him. Without Him will will be lost. But with Him, we will find true joy both now and in eternity.

// This is the foundation of my beliefs. I believe in the whole Bible, and I’d love to point you to evidence in the Scriptures if you have questions.

These are my convictions, and what I base my life and blog around – I hope that God can open hearts through it and that it will be an encouragement to all who find me here.
